The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team captured their 25th overall conference and ninth Big West title on Thursday evening, sweeping Cal Poly, 25-11, 26-24, 25-15.

The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team captured their 25th overall conference and ninth Big West title on Thursday evening, sweeping Cal Poly, 25-11, 26-24, 25-15.

It is the second straight Big West Conference banner for UH, which also clinched the Big West’s automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. The ‘Bows will be making their 35th overall and 24th-straight appearance in the NCAA tourney.

Standout Nikki Taylor led the Rainbow Wahine with a match-high 15 kills at the Stan Sheriff Center on Oahu.

Legendary head coach Dave Shoji, who is in his 42nd year at the helm of the Rainbow Wahine program, also hit a milestone, notching win No. 1200 for his career. Shoji now has a career record of 1,200-203-1.

Next up, Hawaii will play UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
